Artemisiae argyi, Folium (Chinese: Ai Ye; English: mugwort) is used to warm acupuncture points (moxibustion). The herb is shredded then crushed into a small cone which is placed above the acupuncture point and lit. Once the heat becomes too uncomfortable the moxa is quickly removed. It is also used as a tea for cold abdominal pain, especially that related to menstruation and stops bleeding. Use 3-9 grams.
