Carthami, Flos - 8 oz. bulk 红花
Carthami, Flos (Chinese: hong hua; English: safflower)
moves the blood, facilitates menstruation, and alleviates pain. In
large doses this herb dispels blood stagnation, while in small amounts
it harmonizes the blood. This herb is often used in Dit Da Jow formulas
that treat martial art injuries. In China it is used to prevent stroke.
When you soak in wine and drink a small amount every day it acts as a
mild blood thinner. Do not use during pregnancy. Use 3-9 grams to move
the blood and 0.9-1.5 grams to harmonize.
