Chinese Herbal Legends (softcover, 247 pp.) compiled and translated by Zhu Zhongbao and Zhu Liu contains 50 stories on the legends surrounding the origins of different Chinese herbs. The stories give insight into the usage and properties of the herb and how they got their name. Each herb story also has an illustration of the herb along with the English common name, pharmaceutical name, nature and properties, channels entered, actions, dosage, and indications making this book packed with information. As an added plus, at the end of each story there are illustrations that show the sequence of writing the Chinese character for each herb.
