Eucommiae ulmoidis, Cortex (Chinese: du zhong) tonifies the Liver and Kidneys, strengthens the sinews and bones, and aids in the smooth flow of qi and blood. An important herb to strengthen the Kidneys. Commonly used for low sexual energy, weakness, and dizziness. Research has shown that it is effective in safely lowering blood pressure. The bark of the tree (cortex) is used medicinally. It is sliced into narrow strips. Use 6-15 grams in four cups water.
