Reishi ⁺

 Reishi ⁺ The Reishi mushroom (Chinese: 灵芝 Ling zhi; botanical name: ganoderma) is well known in China and Japan. In fact, it is the most respected tonic in Chinese herbalism. Reishi was first described in books in the 11th century, however, it has been used in folk medicine much longer. Common Chinese names for Reishi translate as Spirit plant, plant of immortality, herb of spiritual potency, and ten-thousand year mushroom.

Reishi is an important herb for the immune system. It helps the body cope with stress, improves concentration, and mildly increases energy.

Reishi has been used extensively in China and Japan and has been shown to be good for many health problems. Scientists have reported the following effects of Reishi extracts: Analgesic, antiallergic, bronchitis preventative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, antitumor, antiviral (by inducing interferon production), lowers blood pressure, enhances bone marrow cell proliferation, lowers serum cholesterol, expectorant, immunopotentiation, anti-HIV, liver protecting and detoxifying effects, and slight antiulcer activity. In addition, customers of our Reishi+ formula have noticed increased concentration, energy level, and sense of well-being when using this product.

Reishi also contains triterpenes which are reported to have adaptogenic and antihypertensive, as well as antiallergic effects. Triterpenes give the extract a slightly bitter taste but it is not unpleasant.
