SUCCINUM (Chinese: 琥珀 Hu Po, English: Amber)

Succinum (amber)is the fossilized sap of fir trees. Chinese physicians prescribe it to calm the Spirit, Cool the Heart, promotes urination, dissipate swellings, break up blood stagnation, and for sores and burns of the skin. Said to be good for insomnia, anxiety, forgetfulness, for urinary retention or painful urination, to encourage menstruation, to reduce swelling, and to speed healing.

Packets can be taken singly or combined with other herbs to make a formula. Use one packet to four cups water. Drink 1-3 cups per day.
