Tales of Immortals (softcover, 291 pp.) Compiled by Yuan Yang. Stories about immortals have been in circulation in China since ancient times. Especially after the appearance of Taoism such stories became very popular because one of the aims of Taoist disciplines was to achieve immortality. The more than 100 stories in this book have been selected from Accounts of the Saints, Stories of Immortals and other classics dealing with this subject. Though the stories in this book are short, they are full of wit and wisdom of this esoteric branch of the Chinese cultural tradition.
