Considered a major herb for damp heat in the Stomach or intestines, which may manifest as diarrhea or inflammation of the intestines. Our East Earth Trade Winds herbalist reports that Scutellariae along with Cortex Mori (Sang Bai Pi) is a key herb when treating symptoms of Lung Fire. Use 6-15 grams.

Actions: 1). Clears Heat and Dries Dampness. Treats traveler's diarrhea and damp heat in the urinary bladder. 2). Clears Heat and Sedates Fire. 3). Clears Heat and Eliminates Toxins. 4). Cools blood and stop bleeding.

Research has shown Huang Qin has broad spectrum properties similar to antibiotics.
